2011 First Blog

This is my first blog updated in here this year. Yea, it's almost a year since I last updated my blog here. I reckon that I don't have the habit of jotting down my expression or thought very often. Or I don't have a very good inspiration or languages to really make other people worth their time to just skim it through, perhaps?

Last blog, I was in the university, this time, I'm a grown-up, graduated and finally working in a small but fun company in Subang. It's been exactly a month since my graduation, and time passes damn fast. And I'm with my working life for almost 3 months, and I finally have the taste of dealing with people around me, earn money and bear few commitments. Not big, but very small commitment, I would say. Now I realized that money is not easy to earn and I must really spend wisely and at the same time, earn a lot of money. With my current job, I can only have a good life for my own, but not for my entire family. Thanks so much to my mentor all this while to make me open my eyes and help me in my life.

10 Quotients

Success is what everybody wants, but it is not something easily done. Instead, it needs plenty of practices and face loads of obstacles and failure to derive the success that we want. However, there are 10 important quotients that one must have, practice it in order to have a foundation of becoming success in life.

(1) Morality Quotient (德商) - determines the morality of a person.

It includes considerate, respect, honest, responsible, peace, loyalty, forgiving, good manners and other positive, scrupulous characteristics. Someone who has high moral quotient will gain plenty of trust and respect, and this will make the success rate to be higher. Nowadays, the reason of failure is not caused of capability, rather, it's the person's failure of not bringing him/herself into a position that will gain confidence, happiness to other people. So, back to morality....

(2) Intelligence Quotient (智商) - determines the capability of learning.

This is most known by many people: IQ. It indicates the level of intelligence of someone, but can also represents a person's ability to master certain knowledge, and reflects that particular person's observation, memories, creativity, imagination, thinking, and ability to analyze and solve certain problems. True, everybody has their own level of IQ and it won't change in time. However, through learning and training, it can develop and grow. In the path of success, we must keep learning and collect as much knowledge as possible.

We gain our IQ in the fastest rate when we were still in our studies. More often than not, most of the people stop learning all at once when they start working. Their concern is just to work, finish the task given and receive the monthly pay. One thing that we can see in the upper level of a company, let's say the GMs and above, they do not stop learning by reading books, gain knowledge and constant learning.

We shouldn't just learn from the book or society. In fact, we should learn from our superior because if they can be our superior, there must be something they're good at. Many people wanna surpass their superior, but do not have the tendency to learn from them, so what't the point of having the thought to surpass? It's impossible!

(3) Emotional Quotient (情商) - ability to adapt the environment, meaning to know, control and regulate our emotions

This is the ability of one self to manage their emotion as well as relationship with people around them. Today, people are facing the hectic life, high load of works and complicated relationship. Without EQ, there is no way to gain success. Someone who has high EQ is likable an many people would love to mingle with them. Always, they'll gain lots of support and advocacy from the crowd. At the same time, good relationship is also a good source of life. It's funny, often people with high EQ will gain success way more easily than someone who is 'emo', that's the term we often use la.

As we can see, in the work place, people will grow really fast when they have a pretty good relationship with their co-workers as well as the whole organization in a company. It's really something that we can play with. As the word says: All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. Indeed, dull in everything. Working hard solely doesn't seem to be the best trend in this 21st century.

(4) Adversity Quotient (逆商) - ability to face the pressure of adverse condition, or handle failure and barriers

In today's peaceful world, the ability of someone to handle adversity will even make someone remain invincible. For a genius, they see failure as a stepping stone while for a competent person, they see failure as a fortune. On the contrary, the weak one will see failure as an abyss. Suffering is the best education for a person. Any philosopher will tell us that a great personality will only be obtained via tons of suffering and torture. The Chinese will say: 吃得苦中苦，方为人上人

In any country's richer region, approximately 80% of the people there were born in poverty or lower education environment. They started from scratch, and went through lots of hard work and off course, having all these 10 Qs to build their fortune and finally gain wealth, admiration and reputation. None of them are having a smooth and easy life, instead, they gain success through many ups and downs, failure and obstacles.

People with high Adversity Quotient (AQ) will produce a great result, production, creativity and also helping them to stay healthy, energized and happy. Research shown that people with high AQ will regain their health after operation. Believe, no?

(5) Daring Quotient (胆商) - measures someone's courage and the spirit of adventure.

People with high Daring Quotient (DQ) are able to grab opportunity, dare to try and act at the right timing. Off coz not everyone with high DQ will succeed if they act at the wrong timing, all the risks taken will not be paid off after all. We don't see a successful businessman or political leader chicken out when acting something.

(6) Financial Quotient (财商) - Not about lacking of money but the lack of concept in managing financial, especially the ability to invest their incomes

Someone lacking the ability to manage their financial will not become rich or success. Eventually their money will be spent on unnecessary place. There is a saying that says wealth will not be continued for 3 generations. Financial Quotient is crucial for everyone and it's also the aspect that many people take for granted.

Read 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' and you'll understand it. Most of our parents are the poor dad, sorry to be rude. They would just tell us to study hard, get a degree, find a good job, earn more and spend less. This is a very wrong value that a parent should give! They would even tell us to not earn more, as long as it's stable. It's like...wtf! They didn't even teach us how to manage our financial accordingly, and consider what to invest or spend. Ergo, FQ is something that needed to be instilled in every single person since they are younger.

(7) Mental Quotient (心商) - to maintain our mentality, manage mental stress, keeping a good psychology and vitality

21st century is the era of depression, people are facing a great mental problem. Suicide, abuse, vandalism, indulgence in vice prove everything. A high mental quotient is what everybody needs in order to maintain their psychological state. People nowadays are thirst of success, and a good mental has become a reference for success. The level of MQ directly indicates a person's walk of life, dominating the fate of becoming successful.

Many people gain success but experiencing various stress in life, unhappy, discontented with their state, hunger for more success and eventually bringing a lot of tragedy in their lives.

Psychological stress means any stimulus that can cause nervousness or pressure in a person. When pressure arises to a maximum level, it'll cause anxiety, anguish, doubt and other unhealthy reaction.

(8) Will Quotient (智商) - determines a person's will power, including tenacities, determination, self-control and other related characteristics

If someone doesn't feel tired and work hard in learning and working, means he/she possesses a high Will Quotient (WQ). Where there's a will, there's a way. This proverbs explains most of the point. Many people live a plain living their entire life, not because they are not competent, rather, they lack of ambition and a clear goal in life. In the business world, in order to create an outstanding career, we must have a very huge aspiration.

(9) Spiritual Quotient (灵商) - Towards the essence of inspiration for material, intuitive thinking and its insight.

According to Max Plank, a German physicist, a scientist who is rich in creativity requires a clear mind and imagination, be it Archimedes' Law in finding the buoyancy of a thing or Newton's discovery in gravity when an apple fell on his head, all of these is the best example of science behind a great figure with high Spiritual Quotient.

(10) Health Quotient (健商) - Someone who is health-conscious, having a plenty load of health knowledge.

Health is a person's largest wealth. Let's take health as 1, while career, relationship, wealth, family, friendship, fame and others as 0 behind the digit 1. So, a mere digit 1 is insufficient in someone's life, but without it (health), the digit 0 behind it is meaningless already. Thus, before having a happy life, we must care our body and love our life in order to create and share our business, relationship, wealth, fame and other value of life.

Hope you guys love it. Having all these 10 quotients at a considerably high level will definitely bring us towards success. A lack of even 1 will just make our success remains as a dream. So, realize our dream by practicing and applying these quotients!

Started this brand new month with Nelson's birthday celebration at his apartment in U-height. Jasmine arranged it and I didn't even know her whole load of gangs. All were strangers to me but it was nice to know them.

After that, it'll be exam week. Yay! Next, holiday! Love end of the year, especially Xmas.

Study Week

Yay, study week is commencing now. So happy that final is approaching, so does holiday! But, this gonna be a different holiday for me this time. Staying back in Penang and didn't have the chance to see my parents at hometown is definitely a bad idea. FYP, I love you so so much!

Promise to myself and them

5 weeks of lectures, endless reports, fyp is going to start (what the heck, can't even complete a good proposal!), couple of assignments waiting to be completed, and this is my final year.

Life is going to be busy soon, but I will not give this as an excuse to fight my battle, for a better future, to retire as soon as possible. I believe that me and my partners are able to persist and grow in this lovely environment. Feel proud of them to be able to foresee their future to be very bright and promising. And off course I'm happy for them!

Many friends of mine are enjoying their life, as though nothing to worry their future. I chose to sacrifice some of my times to learn, to be sure what I'm doing will be paid off. No pain, no gain (not that this is a suffering sacrifice, to be honest). What I'm doing now is just for the promise I made to success. Sometimes I feel reluctant to leave the temptation of hanging around, and I think I have the right to just indulge myself in it, just like my other buddies.

I'm just willing to be a more responsible person and help more people surrounding me. Plus the most important people in my life is waiting for me in hometown and I bet they'll be having a good life soon. Dad and Mom, give me 5 years and I shall provide you with luxorious vacation, wonderful house, plenty of time accompanying both of you and enjoy your remaining 5-star life that not everybody can afford to. With a right tool and platform, together with whole group of people helping, I'm very sure that you're going to achieve this very very soon.

Back To School

Hmm....it's been 6 months since I landed on any books. I mean, notes and paper sheets from my university. Time flies really fast, without any realization my final year is approaching. What I've learnt or changed in these 6 months? Damn a lot! Learned precious lessons and seminars from numerous successful people. I aim for next year's ALS to Paris!!!

This time I'll drive back to Penang, I find it very adventurous and exciting! However, the price to pay would be...... SAVE SAVE SAVE!!! Don't think so much, I believe that the Universe will give me lots of money and opportunities to me!!
